The Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board (GISHAB) is bringing two full days of workplace safety and health trainings at the Washington State Fairgrounds in Puyallup.

Day two is the 17th annual Construction Safety Day designed for all workers in the construction industry. Whether you are an employee, employer, student or apprentice, independent contractor, superintendent, safety director, or owner - safety is the key to getting everyone home when the day is done.

Apply for the BIAW Construction Trades Academy

The Construction Trades Training Academy (CTTA) is now open in Tacoma!

The CTTA has helped 14 people successfully complete both the OSHA 10 and Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training (PACT) Core certification. The academy will provide another 12 PACT Carpentry certificates next week.

The next cohort of 29 enrolled students starts on April 14. Interested students can complete an inquiry form for more information.

Maritime Credential Scholarship Program

All on-vessel positions at Washington State Ferries (WSF) require maritime credentials. If you want to work for WSF but need help covering the cost of getting credentials, you can apply for a scholarship. Applications are now being accepted through May 16, 2025, or until funding is exhausted. More than 50 scholarships will be awarded! Apply early for best consideration. Individuals from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
