With a lifetime dedicated to building businesses to paramount success, Karen Dry embodies entrepreneurial spirit. It all started with an unconventional college experience in Electrical Engineering and Physics and has continued on a path of working and selling for varied, professional businesses over the past 30 years.
Her dedication to helping individuals as well as small to medium sized companies properly cover their exposure through extensive business succession planning, including the risk management of life, income replacement (disability), long term care and group medical health insurances is unsurpassed. Her financial planning practice includes working with all levels of professionals and entrepreneurs from law firms, medical practices, accountants, manufacturing, sales and technology firms. Her success has made her the #1 representative for Northwestern Mutual in the Western Region in 2011and 2015, as well as appearing in the Top 50 as a Forum rep and a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for consistent excellence.
Ms. Dry has been in the top 50 nominated for “Executive of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal every year since 2010. She is a consistent producer for the Northwestern Mutual in Long Term Care as well as leading in Core Coalition and Term Conversion sales every year she’s been with the company. She was named “Financial Representative of the Year” in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2015 and became the district office’s “Life Specialist” in early 2010 and promoted to Director of Estate & Business Planning Specialist in 2016. Some of Karen’s previous accolades include “Top 50 Women in Business” by the Pacific Business Times in November 2006 with a personal legislature accommodation by California Assembly-woman, Audra Strickland.
Belonging to over 12 associations, Karen considers her involvement with associations a key part of her success as a leader in the community. She is a public speaker, having authored and created over 30 seminars that promote leadership development. Recent classes she has authored are: “There Is No Prince Charming”; “Marketing 101 for Small Business Owners”; “Getting LinkedIN”; “Mars & Venus - Communication Skills Between Men and Women in the Workplace” and “Ethics and Morality in the Workplace”, to name a few.
In January 2009, she was inducted into the NAHB (National Assoc. of Home Builders) Honored Society of Associates. She has also been honored as NAHB Professional Women in Building’s (PWB) “Member of the Year” in February 2006 and received their most prestigious award, “Women of the Year” in February 2007.
Ms. Dry was inducted 2010 and 2011 member of the Northwestern Mutual’s L.E.A.D. Program - Leadership through Education, Achievement and Development – a leadership position responsible for the education and development of representatives. She has been a valued committee member of the company’s national Diversity Working Task Force. Overall, Karen works diligently for the advancement and empowerment of all her clients, especially executive women in all industry, advocating each to educate themselves fully within their career and community.
She resides in Woodland Hills and has five children.
