Caitlin is the Assistant Program Director for Sea School Northwest, a mariner training program on tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain, and a contributor to SeaSisters.org. Caitlin started her maritime career as a volunteer deckhand on tall ships in 2010. She earned her 100 tonne inland Captain’s license and AB Special in 2014, and went to work as an AB on M/V American Empress, a 360’ paddlewheel cruise ship on the Columbia River. In 2015 and 2016 she was a Deckhand/Engineer for Foss Maritime Company working Columbia River ship assist.

She now lives on her farm on Whidbey Island with her husband Sam and Australian cattle dog Merlin. Her passion is connecting young people with a meaningful career at sea.
